There are lots aspects that go into the perfect wedding reception venue, when you begin your search, here are a few key tips to keep in mind:

CEREMONY – how far do you want to travel, and have your guests, travel to reach the reception venue. Anything over an hour is really a lot to ask of your guests.

SIZE – how much room do you need for your guests to eat, drink, dance and be merry.

INSIDE & OUTSIDE – many couples want to have an outdoor cocktail hour then adjure indoors for the reception. Is there a “bad weather” alternate, is there enough shade if it’s a hot day?

WHAT’S INCLUDED – venues can include anything from linens, flowers & decor to wedding cakes, so be sure to ask.

PARKING – is there ample parking for your guests, is there a valet service, how far is the parking area.

DO’S & DON’TS – be sure to ask what is and is not allowed on the facility; loud music, confetti, flames and sometimes even children are an issue.

ACCOMMODATIONS – if you have lots of guests traveling from out of town, is there a hotel or motel in the area, within reasonable distance, that your guests can stay at.
